Museum of Lobby Art |
The Museum of Lobby Art documents and catalogs paintings, sculptures, and installations in corporate lobbies and plazas throughout New York City.
The privately-owned works in this catalog are in uneasy conversation with the public. These works are often behind turnstiles or otherwise barricaded from public access. Passers-by may be able to glimpse works through windows or behind guard desks but will rarely be permitted to view works up close. The Museum of Lobby Art draws attention to these partially-accessible works by documenting their existence.
Because we believe in open access to cultural heritage, the source code and raw data behind this website is available on the museum's GitHub page.
